Mold Assessment and Sampling
What you can't see could be making you sick....
One of the "HOT BUTTON"issues in residential living today is MOLD in your home that may be contributing to illness....and you may not see them!
Visible mold is often the tip of the iceberg because the better habitat for uncontrolled mold growth is often hidden from view. Mold may be inside wall cavities, between floors. Building Specs can conduct a Full House Mold Assessment and Sampling for uncontrolled mold growth in your home.
Some mold facts for you:
-
Wet materials or humidity conditions over 40% may allow mold colonies to form in less than 48 hours.
-
Mold needs four conditions to colonize: moisture, lack of UV rays, lack of ventilation, and organic material as a food source (i.e. nearly everything in your home!)
-
Mold falls into three categories: allergens, pathogens and toxins. Some mold can be all three!
-
Tape and swab sampling identifies the type(s) of mold present. Air sampling identifies mold spores(seeds). Air sampling helps to determine where the spores have spread through the structure. Most reactions to mold are caused by mold spores.
-
One family member may be adversely affected by mold spore exposure, while other family members show no affects.
-
Odor and visible color has no bearing on what type(s) of mold may be present. Only analysis by a qualified laboratory can determine if it is mold, and what type(s).
-
Mold grows in almost every color of the rainbow! Color does not determine toxicity.
-
MILDEW IS MOLD!
Mold spores exist EVERYWHERE in the world! It is the uncontrolled growth that presents a concern.
DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU!
